Rotorua Nui

Explore Rotorua’s CBD as it comes alive with arts, culture and performance. Re-imagine the city as spaces and organisations open their doors to art, music, dance, fun, laughter and food. This is a free event with something for everyone so get the beanie and gloves ready to join us for a fun night out in Rotorua.

Come down to Government Gardens to watch two spectacular laser light shows. The two eight-minute shows will be best viewed from the Princes Gate end of the gardens looking towards Rotorua Museum. The displays have been created by local Ray Philpott and will be accompanied by music.

Colour the Night is Rotorua's annual one night Winter arts festival which brings sees arts and cultural spaces in Rotorua open their doors for a night full of performance, music and creativity. This event is also for locals and visitors to explore central Rotorua for a night through an artistic lens. There will be lots of things to see, new things to try and lots of people to meet.

Past events have seen more than 2000 people getting involved on the night with more than 200 local artists/performers involved. The event is held during Matariki and is a showcase and celebration of local talent during this magical time of year.
