Otautahi Christchurch, is the perfect place to visit and explore throughout. The largest city in the South Island of New Zealand has gone through various challenges these past few years but the people of Christchurch still stand strong today. Come together in this Embracing Love and Peace event to join in our Blessings for Christchurch to uplift and bring back vibrant colours into Christchurch. We will have a light offering to bring more compassion, wisdom, and joy. People from all religion, faith, and background are invited to join in this event. Together we can bless Christchurch to give it a brighter future.

There will also be amazing multicultural performances during this event. The Christchurch City Chorus who are the 2018 National Champions, Maori Group Performances from the Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu and many more lovely shows to keep you and your loved ones entertained!

Christchurch City Chorus is Australasia’s premiere international award winning women’s acapella chorus. In 2018 the Chorus won the national Sweet Adelines competition title for the 11th time.
Ngāi Tahu is the principal Māori tribe of the southern region of New Zealand. Its takiwā (tribal area) is the largest in New Zealand, and extends from White Bluffs / Te Parinui o Whiti (southeast of Blenheim), Mount Mahanga and Kahurangi Point in the north to Stewart Island in the south. We are honoured to have the Te Runanga o Ngāi Tahu perform their traditional performances at our event.

The Dunhuang Dance is a dance that originated from Dunhuang, Gansu province, West China. The dances itself is influenced by Buddha images and Buddhism. We are happy to present a Chinese Dance Troupe which will be performing the Dunhuang dance for us.

We will also be having a mindfulness talk entitled “Smile! It is life: Mastering the art of joy through mindful living”. Mindfulness is a very powerful tool in facilitating you to face challenges and create opportunities in life.

We have invited Dr Kwong Djee Chan (Eric) a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and the Internationalisation Lead of Griffith School of Medicine in Queensland Australia to give a talk on mindfulness. He received his Medical training in Taiwan (Kaohsiung Medical University) and his PhD from Griffith University School of Applied Psychology, focusing on grief and loss support training. As a Thanatologist (Life and Death Scholar) he received his Master of Arts in Life and Death Studies from Nan Hua University in 2001. Dr Chan is also a holistic counsellor trained in Australia (2003).

This is definitely an event for you and your loved ones to enjoy, learn and grow!
