A meditative, slow-paced form of Yoga.
Seated or lying postures (asanas) are held in relaxed stillness for a period of time ranging from 2-5 minutes or more depending on your level of experience. Enhancing joint mobility, flexibility, and healing to the body’s connective tissues, Yin mainly targets areas between the knees and lower back. A blissful way to restore equilibrium to our increasingly busy lives.
The beauty of Yin is that anyone can do it. You don’t have to be an athlete, be flexible, have good balance or strong muscles. It’s your practice and that allows you to use the pose and props to get into your body, not the other way around.
Give it a go – it may take a few weeks, but believe me, persevere and you’ll be hooked!
