First Tuesday Concert - John Wells

Wells’ Well-Tempered Piano is a collection of prelude-and-fugue pairs composed over a six-year period. They follow the pattern of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier but cover all thirty classical keys: Bach only used twenty-five.

Dr John Wells needs no introduction as an organist but he is also an accomplished pianist. He has great pleasure in presenting a selection of pairs in various keys and will give a brief background to each.
