Every first Tuesday of the month, one of our curators unravels the stories behind an iconic artwork currently on display at the Gallery. In February Emma Jameson, Assistant Curator, will discuss not one but two works by the 19th century British painter Sir Frederic Leighton: "A Dream" (1859-1860) and "The Spirit of the Summit" (1894, pictured). These works are currently on display at Auckland Art Gallery as part of the exhibition "Love, Longing, Loss".
Only 30 spots available, booking required. This is a Gallery Members-only talk. If your membership includes a guest pass you can book for a plus-one too.
