Grooving Good Jazz/Groove Trio

Who are we? “juztjazz”is a great jazz/groove trio consisting of Malia and Aaron Stewart, (father and son), with Newtown Rock Steady drummer Andy Hoy.

Bio: “juztjazz”is a highly skilled and experienced jazz group comprising three graduates from the NZ School of Music with a Jazz Performance Degree.

We perform in Wellington and on the Kapiti Coast at the Wellington Jazz Festival, Tauranga Jazz Festival, restaurants, The Southern Cross and other bars in the Wellington region, weddings, and Corporate Events.

We have been regular performers at Gatsby Tapas, Italian on Cuba, Le Metropolitain and regularly play jazz at St Peters on Willis.

We play cool smooth jazz in a wide range of styles, spicing up standards with a modern groove. With great energy and enthusiasm we play quiet mellow background music or speed it up and get more funky.

Our primary emphasis in performing is to engage with the audience. By responding to them, the band members get caught up in an exciting inspiring cycle, communicating an energy that is compelling—we are there to impart this feeling and are not just playing for themselves.
