Hamish Smith's c0n-nec-ti0n - 2019 Wellington Jazz Festival

Bassist/composer Hamish Smith, originally from Christchurch is presenting his ‘c0n-nec-ti0n' band with a New Zealand personnel.

Since moving to New York in 2018 to pursue studies at the Manhattan School of Music, he has become a known young talent in the jazz scene. Over the past few years, he has performed internationally with artists including Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Arturo O’Farrill, Luis Bonilla and Alex Sipiagin amongst others. His current primary collaborations include, ‘Immigrantet’, and ‘Los Lideres’, as well as being a sideman on other projects.

This show will present brand new original music, that is to be recored later in 2019. Featuring Brad Kang (guitar), Leonardo Coghini (piano), Hamish Smith (bass), and TBD (drums)
