This electrifying ensemble, led by New Zealand’s premiere concert pianist, Michael Houstoun and featuring Madeleine Pierard, a regular artist at The Royal Opera, Convent Garden, will present the smaller-scale treasures of Brahms’ oeuvre, vocal quartets, vocal and piano duo and a cello transcription of two classics.

A source of inspiration for musicians and audiences since the latter part of the 1800s, Brahms understood the romance of combining voices and instruments to transport the listener and the performer to a place of shared wonderment.

Acclaimed pianist and vocal coach David Harper will also appear along with local soprano Anna Pierard, cellist Cameron Stuart, Project Prima Volta graduate Emmanuel Fonoti-Fuimaono and Auckland-based baritone, James Harrison.

This will be a phenomenal experience, and an unique opportunity to see Michael Houstoun one more time before his imminent retirement. A night not to be missed. Proudly brought to you by Festival Opera, this will be a very special concert.
