With the current antieLAB and democratic movement in heat in Hong Kong, a group of volunteers in Christchurch are hosting a community screening of 'Ten Years' to shine light on the current issue in Hong Kong.

About the film:
Ten Years is a speculative dystopic Hong Kong film released in 2015. It offers a vision of Hong Kong in 2025, with human rights and freedoms gradually diminishing as the mainland Chinese government exerts increasing influence.

Winner of the 22nd Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award and the 35th Hong Kong Film Awards, the film has been censored and banned from screening in Mainland China.

Ten Years is a collection of five short stories; a prophecy, and a fable for Hong Kong. All the stories are independent, yet at the same time, intricately related to one another. Through the films, five of Hong Kong’s young directors invite audience to ponder together about the most central issues concerning Hong Kong and reflect upon the present.

Free of charge. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
