This year, Human Rights Day marks the 71st Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights of all.
These are rights that everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, creed, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
The Church of Scientology supports this Declaration through its humanitarian program 'United For Human Rights' and would like to invite you to attend our Human Rights Day Open House.
United for Human Rights (UHR) is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to implementing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at local, regional, national and international levels. Its membership is comprised of individuals, educators and groups throughout the world who are actively forwarding the knowledge and protection of human rights by and for all Mankind. Its purpose is to provide human rights educational resources and activities that inform, assist and unite individuals, educators, organizations and governmental bodies in the dissemination and adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at every level of society.
At this Open House you will find out what local achievements have been made and hear from guest speakers regarding international events and situations.
All attendees will receive a copy of the 'Story of Human Rights'.
Also available for order will be the Educator's Kit - A How to Kit for anyone in the field of educating others on the subject of human rights and how these apply. The kit comes with a DVD of the Story of Human Rights and short Public Service Announcements on each human right that clearly demonstrate the concept.
This is a community service hosted by the Church of Scientology to promote Human Rights within our community.
