Meet curator Rob Eruera in the library gallery on Level 2 for an introduction to the exhibition Kīnaki: Ngā reta Māori (15 March-17 May). Then head to the Ground Floor Makerspace and have a go at nineteenth century writing.
Dr Alistair Kwan’s workshop will focus on the physical act of writing. Experience different ways of writing and try your hand with old-fashioned pens, quills and coloured ink. Facsimile copies of handwriting from the 19th century will be available for you to enjoy and practise on.
2pm: Curator’s korero: Meet Rob Eruera in the Gallery on Level 2 for an introduction to the exhibition.
2.30pm: Writing workshop with Dr Alistair Kwan, University of Auckland. Head to the Ground Floor Makerspace to have a go at 19th century writing.
