Christian Lindberg Soloist/Conductor

WEBER Overture to Oberon
DAVID Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No.4

Internationally acclaimed Swedish musician Christian Lindberg joins the CSO as trombone soloist and conductor.

Voted "The Greatest Brass Player in History" by ClassicFM, Christian Lindberg has presented more than 300 works and released 70 solo CDs. Lindberg has also established himself as a highly regarded conductor, holding Music Director Directorships with orchestras in Norway and Israel as well as working with major orchestras throughout the UK, Europe, Japan, the US and Australasia.

Tchaikovsky composed his fourth symphony against a back drop of personal turmoil and regarded the resulting composition to be "an echo of my most intimate spiritual life". The music traverses dramatic opening fanfares, melancholic nostalgia, rustic dances before concluding with a fiery and wild finale.
