It’s time to celebrate the Māori New Year and Matariki’s nine stars with another shining star, Merata Mita.
A pioneering filmmaker, Merata was the first Māori woman to write and direct a narrative feature. Come along and discover the experiences that both shaped and motivated Merata’s life and work.
