Lower Hutt public art team Struan Ashby and Erica Duthie (Tape Art NZ) are back at Hutt Winter Festival this year.
The artists are inviting you to join them in creating a series of six paper sculpture lanterns, with colourful cellophane-stained glass inserts created in these free workshops. The lanterns will be large scaled and finely detailed, and will be installed into the Lower Hutt Events Centre on Saturday 17 August at the Final Fantastic Festivities. You will get the opportunity to make the gorgeous stained glass like inserts and puncture patterns that will filter the light and make the art works glow beautifully.
Limited availability, please reserve your place. Ages 12+

About the Artists:
Tape Art NZ are a Hutt based international public art team, who specialise in developing ephemeral art as part of festivals and exhibitions and public events. They have a flair for envisaging 'what could be' in the rich canvas of surfaces that a city provides to the imaginative, and a wealth of experience making and facilitating art from years of experience. Tape Art projects are characteristically novel and quirky in concept and the use and re-use of unexpected materials. The richness of Tape Art’s process is very much in the way they have been able to make art accessible, personal and memorable as they infuse others with their brand of intelligently made but non-elitist ephemera.
