Pre-show talk: The making of Hamlet

Meet the team responsible for Pop-up Globe’s spectacular fourth Auckland season in our exclusive pre-show talk series. Featuring a wide range of practitioners, each talk will be focused on both that evening’s performance and their work in general. Relaxed, informal, informative and fun, this is your chance to uncover what really goes into making a production at Pop-up Globe.

Pop-up Globe staff director David Lawrence will discuss the creative process behind his production of Hamlet and the challenges involved in finding something new to say about Shakespeare’s most famous play. He will investigate what surprises await actors and audience when a 400-year old play is placed in its original performance conditions and playing space, and what otherwise-lost aspects are illuminated.

These intimate pre-show talks are limited to 30 seats only so book early to avoid missing out!
