After a spellbinding album release show in Paekakariki, award-winning indie-folk / alt-country singer Steph Casey and her incredible five-piece band including Caroline Easther (The Chills, Let's Planet), Allan Galloway (Let's Planet, Galloway) and Murray Costello (The Mockers, Let's Planet) are coming to Wellington's The Third Eye to bring you songs from Casey's two critically acclaimed albums.

Here's what the reviews had to say about the new album "The Seats In My Car":

“This second album by the acclaimed indie-folk singer Steph Casey – whose debut Whisper and Holler went top five here at home and got favourable notices internationally – confirms a strong and unique talent.” – GRAHAM REID

“This is an album of beauty. Gorgeous arrangement and tone with golden melodious vocals and heart-warming lyrics. Each one of the seven tracks is a cleverly crafted delight. 5 / 5 stars.” – MUZIC.NET.NZ

Casey's new single 'At a Bar Downtown' was one of four NZ singles included in the July Offical NZ Music Charts' 'Ones to Watch' list. Steph was also interviewed last month on TV3's 'The Cafe' show and music show The 13th Floor, and her song 'Hold On' from The Seats In My Car featured last week on The International Americana Music Show which broadcasts on 30 US radio stations and on public radio stations around the world. Closer to home, in the last two weeks Steph Casey & Band have featured on RNZ National's 'NZ Live' show with Jesse Mulligan and Radio Active's 'Active Live' show.

At this intimate concert, you can expect warm acoustic guitar overlaid with swathes of gritty tremolo electric guitar, deep piano chords, soaring vocals with sublime backing harmonies and heart-touching lyrics, with a murder ballad and an irreverent pop-rock song thrown in for good measure.

Singer-songwriter Annette Esquenet, whose captivating solo performances have been wowing audiences throughout the Wellington region, will be opening the show.

Tickets on Eventfinda (door sales available but may be limited).
