The Tairua School Food & Wine Festival is a major event for the Tairua local community and an important fundraiser for the Tairua school.

Now celebrating 25 years, the Festival is a favorite staple of the Coromandel Summer bringing together terrific music, sumptuous food, wines & beers, kids entertainment and great New Zealand produce. This festival caters for adults and kids.

Jordan Luck Band is headlining this year’s festival. ‘Legend’ is a word suffering from chronic overuse syndrome these days, but when it comes to Jordan Luck, the word regains its full meaning and one the NZ public associates with this true blue Kiwi artist.

As front man and pop-writing genius with the legendary Exponents, he clocked up a staggering 18 Top 40 singles over the years, with ‘Victoria’ recently voted by the public as the 8th greatest New Zealand song of all time. The Jordan Luck Band is the new super deluxe Frankenstein incarnation backing the iconic kiwi singer these days.

Daughters of Ally are back by popular demand. They bring exquisite vocals & harmonies with a fun energy on the stage. One of the solo acts is the very talented Majic Paora who has been singing professionally since she was 12.

This reggae roots artist has lifted one success after another. Too funky for folk and too folky for funk - that's Sonic Delusion's Latin-infused, pop-laced "funky electroacoustic folk". Sonic Delusion frontman Andre Manella uses his well-worn loop pedal to spontaneously create layers of rhythm, tone and vocals.

Enjoy food, beer and wine from 30 plus vendors. Colorful and friendly street entertainers, a fabulous kids’ area including face painting, creative activities and massive inflatable fun. Test your skills and win supreme at our rugby toss and the harbor hole in one golf.

Our art and crafts market has an array of authentic New Zealand stalls that visitors can pursue gifts or personal treats. Hair and body art, products and treatments, candles, jewelry, housewares, crystals, clothing, wood crafts, bags, toys and a range of local artists will have their work on display for purchase.

As always there will be loads of great prizes up for grabs. The raffle prize this year is a choice between; a full day fishing charter for 4 people with Carl Muir Fishing, or a Tairua weekend away for 4 people including 2 nights at Sunlover Retreat, dinner at Manaia Kitchen & Bar and a treatment at Tairua Health & Beauty or a $1,500 Flight Centre voucher from Flight Centre Thames.

$5 per ticket or $20 for 5 (a booklet). Winner drawn on Saturday 5th January 2019 at the Tairua Food & Wine Festival. All proceeds go to the Tairua school.

Adult admission only $20, Gold card holders $10 and kids under 18 get in free. The adult & gold card holders’ admission includes a cup designed especially for the 25th anniversary.

So, mark Saturday 5th January 2019 9am-4pm in your holiday calendar and make your way down to Tairua school for a huge day of fun for everyone. It is the Event of the season, in the scenic location and all proceeds go to supporting the school.
