Te Ara Kakariki are working hard to improve biodiversity in Canterbury by creating a native corridor of green dots, linking the mountains to the sea and Lake Ellesmere. So far we have planted at 73 greedot sites. Join us for a volunteer planting day at two green dot sites in West Melton and Greendale. An ecologist will introduce you to each site and give a planting demonstration. Spades and gloves are supplied as well as lunch and dinner.

Transport
This is a self drive event. Maps and other details will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to the plantout. We encourage car pooling where suitable and if you would like to take part in this either as a driver or passenger please email office@kakariki.org.nz so I can put you in contact with others. The two sites are 18 minutes between.

Food
We provide morning and afternoon tea. Please bring your own lunch. Drinking water and hot drinks will also be available during the day.

What you need to do/bring
- Make sure you register on our website.
- On the day bring warm clothes, a sunhat, drink bottle and sturdy shoes. A spare pair of shoes or gumboot may come in handy also.
- Encourage your friends and family to join you.
- Turn up ready to improve Canterbury Biodiversity!
