Matariki Torchlight Hikoi

Queenstown celebrates Matariki in an iconic Torchlight Hikoi through our streets and onto Marine Parade where you will be greeted by a breath taking cultural welcome.
To make our opening evening even more special, we will be kicking off proceedings in Earnslaw Park with a traditional Karakia before being guided through our beautiful streets, welcoming in New Zealand’s winter in true celebratory style.

Collections open at 4pm with the Hikoi starting at 4:45pm.

Please dress warmly, it will be cold and you will be outside for up to 2 hours or more.
