The Plains Railway - Open Day

Take a rail journey back in time at The Plains Railway & Historical Museum behind our K88 Locomotive!

Rides operate every half hour, from 11am - 4pm. Ticket prices: Adults $8, Child $4 - family of 2 A and 2C $20. Pre-schoolers free.

Browse through the Museum Village buildings with displays of yesteryear including Vintage Machinery.

The Ashburton Steam and Model Engineers will be operating their miniature trains - $2 per person. Great for kids of all ages!

Also Open will be The Ashburton Fire Museum, The Ashburton Woodworkers, The Lynn Woodworking Museum - entry to these via Donation.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the Tinwald Domain, complete with playground and heated outdoor swimming pool.
