Experience the sights, sounds and flavours of Fiji, Niue, Tonga, Samoa, Tokelau, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Aotearoa – right here in Wellington!

Wellington City Council presents the Wellington Pasifika Festival, a day of traditional and contemporary Pasifika performances, delicious food and free family-friendly activities as part of Wellington’s Summer City.

Must see performers include the award-winning Punialava’a, Australian indigenous storyteller Mojo Juju, and super soul vocalist Bella Kalolo who brings her Samoan, Tongan and Maori heritage to the stage.

As well as providing festival goers with tasty treats, food providers will be heating up the kitchen as they go head to head in the Pacific Cuisine Cook-Off!
Watch out for events happening on the St Johns lawn including tivaevae (a form of artistic quilting), hula classes, and a Pacific storyteller.

Pasifika highlights our Pacific communities’ arts, culture and history, and provides an insight into traditional practices across various cultures. The annual festival features local and international performance groups, food and craft stalls.

Gather your friends and family to join us on Saturday 19 January to celebrate the vibrant culture and traditions of our Pasifika communities.
