Warm up your winter by reliving this bygone era, when women wore smart skirts, dresses, costumes, coats, and knitwear made of wool. Then there's furs, hats, gloves & scarves to add. Houses weren't so warm and cars didn't have heaters, so you needed a woollen rug and probably a fur if you were out driving. For dinner gowns & evening wear velvet was very popular.
This latest display at The Pointon Collection shows all these and more, even a silk velvet wedding gown. Some feature hand embroidery, a fancy zip or stylish buttons & buckles. They are all shown with original accessories of the era. The men haven't been forgotten, very smart in long coats, and neither have the small children who are snug in their handknit dresses & hats.
Of course the cars feature as well and these have passengers, luggage etc and look all set for the road. Come and tour this latest display with Gaye & Francis Pointon, who are happy to show you around. Groups are very welcome by appointment.
