What is Yoga?
Either a newbie or an experienced practitioner, you have probably heard of yoga as the practice of posture (asana), breath (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana).
But how much do you know about the moral foundations of the eightfold path to yoga, or the Yamas and Niyamas ? The five yamas and five niyamas are the ethical precepts, or core values in the ancient yogic teachings. They provide a recipe for being in the world, embodying peace, an art of living from thousands of years ago and in modern times alike.
Built on interactive methods, discussion and exercises, this workshop aims to create understanding of these ten pillars of wisdom, which can lead the way to true freedom.
We will look through Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, the core text of Yoga, a true collection of universal living principles. We will share, play and discuss in order to see how we can integrate Yoga into our behaviour and become the best version of ourselves.
The Yamas and the Niyamas lead us on a path of transformation, self-knowledge and moral perfection, and this applies in all spheres of daily life. What can this workshop contribute to in your life?
The workshop is suitable for any level - beginners in yoga as for yoga teachers alike.
