This four-week specialty course facilitated by Kirstie Cleary is a unique fusion of yin and restorative yoga, inviting deep release in the physical body and an enlivening of the subtle body anatomy.

Yin poses focus on gentle traction of the connective tissue (fascia), a web-like matrix spun around every cell, organ and joint in the body. By targeting the fascia and creating more space and suppleness, the natural range of motion in the joints is enhanced.

Restorative poses are yoga-like shapes held for a sustained time to re-set the parasympathetic nervous system, dialing up the body’s innate ability to repair and rejuvenate. Releasing tension often creates an experience of weightlessness as homeostasis re-establishes itself in the body/mind.

Suitable for all levels, our yin and restorative course is a beautiful synergy of both practices, irrigating the deeper tissues and allowing prana (life force) to flow through the rivers of the body. These more introverted styles of yoga, where permission is given to slow down, provide a delicious way to engage with the conversation the body/mind is always offering us… often we just need to get quiet and move towards stillness to hear it and then respond.

Each session, using a variety of bolsters, blankets, blocks and other props, students will get to sense their own natural relaxation response in a series of supported yin and restorative postures for specific duration's (3,5,10,15 minutes), enabling them an authentic experience of deep relaxation and physical restoration.

Spaces on this course are limited to 8 students to allow for customised care and individual focus. Bookings essential.
