Geoheritage Walk – Te Tatua-a-riukiuta/Three Kings Volcano
Three Kings Volcano erupted 28,000 years ago and is one of the 53 small basalt volcanoes that erupted in the Auckland Volcanic Field over the past 190,000 years. Geologist and author Bruce Hayward will lead a 3 km walk around and through the volcano pointing out rock exposures and landforms that provide an insight into the sequence of eruption events that occurred. Rated as relatively easy with 3 km walk, bring rain and sun gear, drink and cell phone. Free, all welcome, no bookings, no cancellation.
