Author Visit: Gareth Ward: CANCELLED

Meet Gareth Ward, magician, storyteller, bookseller and author who is touring the country to celebrate the launch of his latest book, 'The Clockill and the Thief', a follow up to his bestselling and award winning first book, 'The Traitor and the Thief'.

Gareth will talk about being a writer, discuss his books and sprinkle in some magic tricks at this not-to-be-missed free event. Gareth will also sign personal copies of his books, including pre-owned.

Gareth Ward is not your average author. He has been a police officer, royal marine commando, hypnotist, a zombie and moonlights as a magician—nown as the Great Wardini. He is also the owner of two independent bookshops in Hawke's Bay.

Gareth’s first novel, The Traitor and the Thief, a young adult steampunk adventure novel, won the Storylines Tessa Duder award in 2016, the 2018 Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Youth Novel, received a 2018 Storylines Notable Book Award, has been a finalist in two categories at The New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults and made New Zealand Listener’s Top 50 Book list in 2017. The sequel, The Clockill and the Thief, was published in 2019.
