Bent Horseshoe - The Rag Poets

The Rag Poets are a great band from Wellington.
We have had a few times before but they have never played at the club.
When the played out at the old cafe we had sold-out shows and they gave a superb show.
These guys have played in some of the best bands in NZ. They are all seasoned musicians who over the years have played many styles of music.

Rag Poets are a Wellington band with a legendary line up – Carl Evensen (Fourmyula/ Rockinghorse) Clinton Brown (Warratahs/Rockinghorse), Al Norman (Smokeshop/Warratahs,  Vic Singe Phil Hope both with a bunch of credentials.

They perform songs from a broad repertoire including Beachboys, Sir Douglas Quintet, The Springfields, Neil Young, plus NZ bands – Breaks Co-op, Windy City Strugglers and a handful of originals that people love. They have built up a solid audience to their many regular shows.

They've been around for a while now, starting in the 1960s and 1970s. They've played in bands like e Fourmyula, Kal-Q-Lated Risk, Rockinghorse and e Warratahs and have the best part of 300 years of NZ music history in them with the voices and musicianship that comes from decades of being at the coal-face and now they’ve come together to find a musical home in Rag Poets.
