This is a very special one-off concert, where Cathie Harrop will play harp with her son Dave Khan (fiddle) and daughter, Jennie Khan (cello). Don't miss it!

Cathie Harrop started playing the harp when she was 12 years old and in her career has made a wide variety of recordings has never stopped.

At 16 her teacher Dorethea Franchi arranged for her to make her first record singing Irish songs with her own harp accompaniment which was followed by two small albums of Songs for Children before Cathie left to study at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin Ireland.

Within two months after arriving in Dublin Cathie was invited to sing at the All Ireland Football final before a live crowd of 80,000. This led to a recording contract for several hit singles two albums and extensive touring.

Upon moving to Britain Cathie was again picked up by the major studios recording more successful Albums and singles.

Her success followed her when she returned to NZ and she established herself with a long running Childrens TV show and many light entertainment programs including a nationwide tour with the NZ Army Band.

She also developed strong links with Radio NZ broadening her range of special projects from the songs of Dory Previn to Marianne Faithful with a bit of English comedian Joyce Grenfell and Victorian music thrown in.

Cathie is a consummate artist adept at interpreting and performing an extraordinary rage of genre

For her concert at Kumeu Live on 29th of August Cathie will draw from her large repertoire of varied songs.

She will be sharing the evening with her daughter Jennie Khan cellist and son Dave Khan fiddle and guitar player who are both well known professional musicians.
