Taheke Station is next to Rere Falls. The walk is a circuit of 7 - 8 km on farm tracks, first following above the Wharekopae River, then with a steady rise up a tributary valley, descending to the starting point by a ridge and another valley. Meet at the Army hall, where the Farmers Market is held on Saturdays.
