Passengers

The Senior Drama Students are performing Passengers by Fiona Farrell for their 2020 Senior Production on Friday 16 October and Saturday 17 October.

Passengers, written by one of New Zealand’s leading playwrights, is set in the 1860s, on board an immigrant ship transporting 19 working class women, aged between 12 and 21, from England to New Zealand in search of a better life. This is a story of their journey during the 130 days at sea. Created from actual records of the time, this play gives an insight into the extreme conditions on board the ship and into the challenges these immigrants faced during their quest for a new beginning in a foreign land.
