Give your body and mind a treat, and indulge in a nourishing sequence of restorative yoga poses, guided meditations and breathing exercises, lead by Emma. To accompany and further deepen your practice, a Sound Bath will be facilitated by Romy Burgess of The Beauty Elixir. Sound has a powerful effect on our bodies, it can be cleansing, calming and/or uplifting and energising. We will focus on 3 chakras using sound: heart, throat and third eye, and our yoga sequence will work on these areas too.
We use plenty of props to support us as we gently stretch and release tension from the muscles and joints. To finish there will be a guided relaxation (Savasana) so you can float all the way home. Head/Neck/Shoulder massage will be offered throughout—but is optional.
Restorative yoga is used to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for balancing and re-energising the whole body. By stimulating this system, you experience a lower heart rate, lower stress levels, and lower blood pressure. Typically we hold restorative poses from anywhere between 10-20 minutes to allow the body and mind to absorb the myriad of benefits.
Emma is the founder of Flourish Yoga, and has been practising, learning & teaching yoga for over 15 years. Romy is a holistic facialist, energy practitioner and meditation facilitator who has spent time in India deepening her personal yoga and meditation practice.
All are welcome to attend this workshop. Please wear comfortable loose clothing (bring layers so you stay warm and cosy!)
