This exhibition showcases pieces made using epoxy resin, acrylic paint and ink overlaid with sand, sea life and rubbish collected from the various beaches across Auckland and Northland. The ocean has played a significant role in McKenzie’s life and increasingly she sees the effects of human activity impacting the shores of Aotearoa. The intention of this body of work is to remind us of environmental fragility and to consider new ways to preserve our ecology.
