Te Ao Nui, is a highly resilient, Importance Level 4 (IL4) building completed ahead of a very tight programme in late 2019. Incorporating a key government anchor tenant with a high specification and NABERS sustainability rating the building also houses the Emergency Operations Centre for both Horizons and PNCC which drove the resilient design approach. For street activation and staff amenity there are also retail, hospitality tenancies. Craig Grant (Horizons Regional Council) and Bruce Curtain (WSP) will present the journey of delivering the most resilient new building in Palmerston North from a client and design team perspective.
