Joni Murphy is a full-time professional artist living in New Zealand. Her paintings draw the viewer's attention to endemic and native plant life, found within the area she is working at the time. “My intention is to evoke nostalgic memories of wildflower dells, native bush and forests; the feeling of being within the environment of our untamed earth. I hope to bring to attention the dependency we have on our botanical life, not only for physical well-being but for our spiritual/emotional well-being too. Painting is an intuitive process, informed by living specimens gathered from my surroundings; it is a process of being present to what comes, discovering new subtleties.”
