World Day of Prayer: Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk

World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome all-comers to join in prayer and action for peace and justice.

It takes place on the first Friday in March, beginning in New Zealand and then ripples around the world. A theme developed by the WDP Committee inspires informed prayer and prayerful action. The WDP 2020 programme “Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk,” was written by women in Zimbabwe for the world to use. The Service takes Jesus’ encounter to be a call to act in love for peace and reconciliation. This is the time for change!
