The year 2020 forced the whole planet Earth to be in lockdowns due to the global pandemic caused by the novel-coronavirus “Covid-19”. For months, busy streets of world went silent and concert halls were empty. However, few countries including New Zealand have managed to keep the ‘Covid-19’ contained relatively and hence allowing performing arts to resume. It is this time when conductor, Jason Bae founded the Afflatus Ensemble in 2021 with a single purpose of presenting music back to communities and concert halls with new young talented musicians from New Zealand.
After the successful SOLD-OUT launching concert on last January, Afflatus Ensemble presents their second concert with works by Sibelius, Walton, Arensky, Tchaikovsky and Piazzolla.
Program

Walton - Two pieces for Strings from Henry V
Arensky - Variations on a theme of Tchaikovsky, Op.35a
Tchaikovsky - Elegy for Strings, TH51
