On the 27th March 2021, Friendly Potential will return to Auckland’s iconic Queen’s Wharf waterfront for the second edition of Beacon Festival - an open-air celebration featuring the best electronic music the world has to offer. This time, Beacon Festival is excited to host the New Zealand debuts of Avalon Emerson and Marcellus Pittman, alongside the welcome return of Ben UFO, and a peerless local line-up including Aw-B, Bbyfacekilla, Chaos in the CBD, Eden Burns, Frank Booker, Misa and Nice Girl.

One year ago, a sold-out crowd descended on Queen’s Wharf to celebrate the best in homegrown and international electronic music. Over one sunlit day, we gathered with friends to eat and drink and dance to enthralling sets across indoor and outdoor stages on the waterfront. It soon dawned on everyone that Beacon Festival would be one of the last music festivals to take place before widespread lockdowns came into effect across the world.

Over the past six years, Friendly Potential has become a cornerstone of the New Zealand electronic music community. They know the importance of a party’s environment and sound, and consistently realise this with unique, diverse and exciting lineups. There have been afternoon rooftop events with Anno Domini, pop-up nightclub festivals with CATACOMBS, and night-long debuts from electronic music legends. This year, we expand on this vision by inviting international broadcasting platform Boiler Room to New Zealand for the first time, to beam the dance all around the world.

Friendly Potential is an open, inclusive party for people who want to have a good time. We can't relax until you do, so if someone is making you feel uncomfortable please let one of the crew or venue staff know.

Accept one another, be friendly & have fun!
