Using the classical techniques of cartonnage, make beautiful boxes and cases and cover them in kimono fabrics.

Cartonnage is the art of making boxes of different shapes and sizes and covering them in fabrics or paper. Join Atsuko as she shares not only the techniques of cutting, assembling and decorating but also her stash of gorgeous kimono fabrics and create lovely works of art. No sewing skills needed!

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Choose materials suitable for making covered boxes
- Construct covered boxes using basic assembly techniques
- Decorate the boxes with fabrics of your choice

Bring fabric scissors, craft (Stanley) knife and a small (2-3cm width) paint brush. All other materials included in workshop fee.

Presented by Atsuko McCallum.
