THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS. NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED IN SEPTEMBER.

Conservation Week 2021's theme is "Take a Moment for Nature", and what better way to kick off the celebrations by protecting our own backyard?

Greymouth Department of Conservation is hosting a tree planting day to help restore nature along the West Coast Wilderness Trail. An area just south of the Paroa Hotel has been selected and prepped by some dedicated volunteers. Come join us for a morning of feel-good nature action, and stick around for a free sausage sizzle kicking off from 12pm.

Meet at the hotel parking lot, where you will see the planting site less than a 5-minute walk away, across the creek.

All ages and abilities welcome. Wear sturdy footwear and bring some gloves and a shovel if you have them.
