Infidelity, old friendships, uncertain desires, brutal humour: in the Western tradition, the best short stories are often cutting, and cut down to the bone, getting to the heart of the matter in a few short words. Join 2021 Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction winner Airini Beautrais, and master of the short story form Tracey Slaughter for a conversation with Erin Harrington about the genesis of their respective books "Bug Week" and "Devil's Trumpet", and the craft techniques and tips used to realise their vision.

Tickets are not required to attend free events. We do recommend arriving early to secure a place. Please note that if COVID-19 alert levels change, online registration for free events will be required.
