Devilskin are putting their collective weight behind a fundraiser to help a local artist and her family. Hazel Wheeler, the talent behind the 'Hazelmade' brand as well as the Down The Rabbit Hole events, has a very rare condition which means she will need a liver transplant. After years of hospitalisations and tests the doctors are pushing for her transplant to happen as soon as possible. "This journey so far has been a huge stress on Hazel and her family," a band spokesman said "and we would like to do our bit to raise some money to support the family through this and make Hazel's recovery as quick and easy as possible."
The band have announced a one off show in the intimate setting of the Backyard Gastro Pub, Whatawhata . Tickets are $50 and will be strictly limited as Devilskin promise to deliver a blistering set including some rarely played tracks, deep cuts from their three studio albums and enough energy to rip the roof off. "We are excited to be able to help out Hazel, Jesse and the kids." said bassist Paul Martin "They're a lovely family and they've done plenty for the local scene, it's nice to be able to give back. We're digging deep into our catalogue to bust out some tunes you may not have heard before. Plus, playing in a small bar is something we haven't done for ages so it's going to be up close and personal, hot and sweaty!"
