Eke Paihikara - Cycle Day

Get on your bike and ride up to Arataki Visitor Centre for a very special sustainable cycling day. The first 50 cyclists to ride to Arataki via the Waitākere Ranges track network (ie. Beveridge Track) will be rewarded with a free Danish Delight ice cream.

Using the track network, here are your cycling options:

** Novice cyclists: Park at either end of Exhibition Drive. Ride to Mackie’s Rest and the entrance to the Beveridge Track.

** Experienced cyclists: Cycle from home or catch the train to New Lynn or Glen Eden and ride the road up to Exhibition Drive filter station (cnr Scenic Dr and Woodlands Park Rd) where you will find the entrance to Exhibition Drive and the track to Arataki.

If you are too small to cycle up to Arataki, pop your bike in the car and come for a ride round the “Arataki kids cycle course” or test your trail riding skills along the Beveridge Track to the picnic table and back.
