Exquisite Corpse - Exhibition & Artist Talk

The Jewel and The Jeweller present the exhibition Exquisite Corpse.

Join us for the opening event and Artist talk by Katie Pascoe.

Based on the surrealist game the exquisite corpse, jewellers Kay van Dyk, Joel Fitzwell and Katie Pascoe construct a series of necklaces with a top, middle and bottom without knowing what each other has made.

Together they are assembled to make a jeweller’s Exquisite Corpse.

Pascoe, Fitzwell and van Dyk operate as a collaborative contemporary jewellery collective called Project 21.

Exquisite Corpse was first exhibited as part of the inaugural Nelson Jewellery Week in March 2021, where 9 necklaces were shown at 18A Project Space, Nelson. Project 21’s intention is to grow the series to 21 pieces with 4 more showings to be arranged over the next year. The Jewel and The Jeweller is the first stop on this exciting tour, when 3 more Exquisite Corpse necklaces will be added to the display. In this way, each exhibition has a unique identity as the body of works changes with the addition of new ‘corpses’.
