Spectacular views over Waingake Bush and the coast on a good day. Te Rimu o Maru was the first land sighted from the Endeavour on 6th October 1769 by 11-year-old Nicholas Young as the ship approached Turanganui a Kiwa. This sighting earned Nicholas his name on Young Nicks Head, as well as a reward of rum.
