This class is perfect for anyone wanting an introduction to glass blowing or keen to push their creative skills, and discover the magic of working with glass.
The workshop starts off with the basics of how to pull molten glass out of the furnace, then we move on to shaping it and adding colour. In Day 1 you will learn how to make your own paperweight and have a brief introduction on how to blow the glass.
On Day 2 we will focus first on how to blow a bubble into the hot glass, turning one of your first bubbles into an ornament for you to take home as a momento. Then, after lunch, we will make glass cups together!
By the end of the weekend, you will create six pieces of your own including two paperweights, two cups, a small ornament and one other art piece. You will also have the confidence to work with molten glass and a new understanding for this beautiful material.
No prior skills, knowledge or expertise are required to participate in and enjoy this class. We welcome and encourage anyone wanting to try this unique aft form.
