Our half-day programs are lead by experienced coaches and offer fun climbing games, body movement and literacy, the essential skills of bouldering, learning how to boulder using different holds and techniques, youth yoga, and team building activities. There will also be a fun competition element with some of the games!

Northern Rocks is a world-class climbing centre. The first of its kind in Auckland and North Island. Join in New Zealand's newest growing recreation by having a go at bouldering, indoor climbing at it's best! Your climbing experience is at the heart of what we do. We provide trained and competent professionals that are psyched on climbing and passionate about supporting others.

Bouldering is is rock climbing in its purest form, there's just you and the boulder. No ropes, no belaying and what's more, no experience or great strength required! Bouldering is a great way of improving fitness, self confidence and joining a vibrant community.

In the Northern Rocks Bouldering Gym, the walls are limited in height so you climb over the top of the wall and come down the stairs or jump down on to highly specialized gymnastic boulder pads.

Each boulder 'problem' consists of a series of climbing holds, arranged in various ways, and you work out which way you are going to climb to the top. There are a vast variety of hold shapes and sizes which can be arranged in an infinite number of ways. Your movements can be simple, graceful and meditative or strong, powerful and dynamic!

First time visitors will be given tour and introduction to the facility, climbing shoes are available and we have climbing suited to all ages and abilities.
