Shake your shamrock; Auckland's Irish Raceday party is back!

Each year, Ellerslie Racecourse explodes in a sea of green when Auckland’s Irish contingent (and their friends) descend upon the course for the annual raceday knees-up.

Apparently there are only two kinds of people in the world, the Irish and those who wish they were, so we’re again channelling our inner leprechauns for the return of our immensely popular & colourful Irish festivities to the backdrop of a day's racing.

Put a bit of effort into your raceday outfit? The luck of the Irish might be with you and you could be spotted by our roaming fashion judges and named 'best dressed filly' of the Irish Raceday Party. With a prize package valued at over $450, it's well worth dusting of your racewear goods and showing us what you've got.

Speaking of racing, there'll be a full day's worth of it - headed up by the Mainland Auckland Futurity Stakes.

It’ll be an epic day out to be sure, to be sure.

Free general admission & access into the Irish party!

- 10.30am - Gates open
- 11.32am - First race of nine
- Irish dance performances will be happening in the Newmarket Room in the afternoon...
- 4.16pm - Last race of nine
- THEN our band kicks off & plays until 6.30pm in the Newmarket Room
