James Hunter is pleased to present his debut Aotearoa tour, THE ALMOST SUMMER TOUR, live in concert this October.

2021 has been a year of milestones for Te Whanganui-a-Tara(Wellington)-based alt-folk artist James Hunter. Hot off his sophomore EP, ‘You’ in January, and highly successful shows in both Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) and Tāmaki Makaura (Auckland), James is taking to the roads of New Zealand, accompanied by his two-piece band featuring Taylar Mallo (Bassist) and Emerson McCullough (Drums).

4 Destinations, 4 Shows, 6 phenomenal opening acts, and James’ back catalogue of both successful EP’s ‘Last Little While’, ‘You’ and some new material, performed in ways you’ve never heard before. Tell your friends, family, animals as you don’t want to miss out on this!

*Please note all shows are R18 as we are playing in licensed venues.*

Show dates and opening acts are as follows:

October 7th: Wellington - @ Meow w DEE & the Sweet somethings, Danica Bryant
October 15th: Dunedin - @ Inch bar (Koha at door)
October 22nd: Christchurch - @ Wunderbar w MAKA, Jaz Paterson
Date TBC: Auckland - @ Wine Cellar w Marmalade

DEE & THE SWEET SOMETHINGS is an alternative-folk music collective based in Wellington.

In DEE’s years as a singer-songwriter, they have featured on national radio, performed at several New Zealand festivals, including the Newtown Festival and Lunasa, and regularly gig around the Wellington region.

DEE is inspired by the city of artists in which they live and are captivated by the human experience, using music to explore its intangible nature. They sing with a gentle, sultry, and fluid tone, alongside a glittering guitar sound, inviting listeners into the warmth of their music.

DEE is thrilled to be supported by their SWEET SOMETHINGS: Maxime Paquay on bass and backing vocals, and Ryder Smith on drums.

Sharply bitter yet sickeningly sweet, Danica Bryant is no ordinary songwriter. Born to the fruitful music scene in Napier, New Zealand, her songs cover intense topics such as adolescence, mental health, and young love. “All hard guitar and pain-filled howl” (The Hook NZ), this woman truly bites back.
