After missing out last year, we are delighted to announce the return of the
Mid-Winter Dinner for 2021. This year a very special event is planned.

Speaker: Dr. Ian Griffin

We’ve snared Dr. Griffin whose aurora hunting exploits have been in the news lately. Ian
has marvellous experiences and knowledge to share. This is sure to be an evening full of
beautiful images and spectacular tales of chasing the aurora australis.

Venue: The Canterbury Club, 129 Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch

It is a privilege to visit this historic venue with its many Antarctic connections. Kinsey
hosted a private dinner here for Ernest Shackleton and the officers of the Nimrod
and scientists of the British Antarctic Expedition on 30 December 1907.

Menu: Our menu, like Shackleton's, has braised lamb shoulder as the main dish.

The extras include baby roasted potatoes, spinach ricotta, raisin jus, dressed green salad
or seasonal vegetables; lemon meringue pie with cream, tea and coffee.
NB- there are vegetarian and other alternatives available. PLEASE let us know when you
book by phoning Anne 03 351 6369 so this can be arranged.

Price: $55 per person

Drinks: A cash bar will operate, with slightly lower prices than most restaurants.

Bookings: are essential as spaces are limited - so make your click the Register button above to make your reservation then deposit your payment as below. Thanks

Payment: Payment in advance is appreciated.

Please pay into account 03 0802 0095005 000 with your name and MWD in the
