Take a look at the concept plans and model for the proposed redevelopment of Canterbury Museum. A much-loved, Mountfort design heritage building, the museum redevelopment looks to provide visitors with twenty-first-century facilities, meet exhibition and storage needs while maintaining the character of this special building.
The exhibition is housed in the elongated gallery that adjoins the former Warren and Mahoney offices, as well as Sir Miles Warren’s flat.
Athfield Architects will be hosting in the gallery – so feel free to ask questions, or join one of their tours through the former hub of Christchurch Modern.
Publicly accessible restrooms, wheelchair/walking aid/pram accessible, service animals allowed, assistive listening devices, child friendly.
Join Open Christchurch on 15 & 16 May. With 46 open buildings, two guided central city walks and dozens of special activities (from children’s workshops to performance as well as expert talks and tours), Open Christchurch 2021 is a celebration of our architecture.
